Just four months after the Nikon D40 introduction, the successor 10 megapixel D40x model came as quite a surprise, especially to the early buyers of the Nikon D40 model. We have taken the D40x for a spin at a Barcelona Fiesta and Windows Vista. Although the upgrade is certainly worthwhile, current owners of a D40 (with the latest firmware) can rest assured and do not have to trade in their camera just for more megapixels, as we found no major changes in image quality or camera performance.
