Praktica announces the luxmedia 12-03 anniversary camera - digital camera and photography newsPRESS SUMMARY (translated from German)

In September 2009 PRAKTICA celebrates its 60th brand anniversary. With the first PRAKTICA in October 1949 the successful tour of the Dresdner SLR cameras commenced. While at that time the number of produced cameras was still about 15,000, over time further models were added, which after 40 years grew to a respectable total of over 8.2 million cameras.

Today we continue this tradition with great success and are planning several highlights to celebrate the anniversary. In the middle of the year, we will bring a special edition camera with 12 megapixels - technically based on the successful PRAKTICA luxmedia 8403 - which will honor the long tradition appropriately. We will also mark all our products with a "60 years" label, accompanied by advertising and poster campaigns.

A special bon mot will be the establishment of a virtual camera museum (http://history.praktica.de). There you will find a line-up of all PRAKTICA SLR models, the history of the production of the Dresdner cameras and some noteworthy items in the long history.
