HIGHLIGHTS

Hama launches Network Multimedia Player and Recorder - digital camera and photography newsMany people dream of having a multimedia centre in their own living room. With the new media station from Hama, you are a good deal closer to this dream.

If you connect the Hama media station to the TV or to a projector, a variety of multimedia files can be played. Films, music and photo files that are saved on a PC, laptop or even on a mobile phone can be accessed at any time via the network. The WLAN USB dongles that are provided mean that you do not have to set up any complicated cabling. USB sticks with MP3 files or videos or a card reader for memory cards (where holiday photos may be saved) can be connected. Of course, DVD and video recorders, SAT receivers and set top boxes can also be connected as inputs using the AV input.

The media station can be fitted with a 3.5" SATA hard drive, which is not part of the basic equipment. After being jazzed up in this manner, what had once been only a player is now a hard drive recorder, used to play back, stream and save all data, regardless of it source. One glance at the various AV outputs, including HDMI, and the variety of video, image and audio formats shows the comprehensive ability of the media station.
