Sony releases firmware version 2 for the A700 digital SLR
|
Sony releases firmware update version 2 for the A700 digital SLR camera. This firmware update improves the following issues:
• The picture sharpness is better under low contrast conditions.
• Noise is reduced when working at high sensitivity ISO setting.
• The flash control is better at close range with a non-ADI control lens.
The firmware update is only applicable for the cameras with their model and serial numbers listed in the Sony Service notice...

Notice to Owners of Digital SLR Camera “α (alpha)” DSLR-A700 about the availability of a firmware update.
Thank you for your continued interest in Sony products
Sony is always concerned about quality and customer satisfaction and therefore is offering a firmware update for DSLR-A700. Please refer to the “Download and Installation” section of this document on how to download and install the firmware update.

Important: If the firmware update could not be performed, contact Sony. After the camera was updated, format the recording medium or delete the update file (DSCA700.app) from the recording medium.
Improvements and solved issues

• The flash control is better at close range with a non-ADI control lens.

DSLR-A700/A700P/A700K/A700Z
The model name and serial number are located on the sticker attached to the bottom of the camera body. Please refer to the list below, and check that the serial number of your camera body is within the specified ranges to confirm whether a firmware update is applicable or not. The applicable firmware version is “Ver.1”. Please refer to the online section to determine the firmware version.
