Yepp Series Evolves Into Multi-Media Devices
At CES and CEBit 2004 Samsung showcased one of the most sophisticated Yepp players ever - the YH-999 - an all-in-one Multimedia device and one of the first highly anticipated Portable Media Center devices. Designed to play audio and video contents anytime, anywhere, it is both thin and light at 3.8 x 4.2 x 0.8 inches and 7.9 ounces.
In addition to playing and storing high-quality WMA and MP3 music files in its spacious 20GB storage, the product also plays Windows Media Video (WMV) files at 320 x 240 resolution and 700 kbps. Its 400 Mhz PXA 255 CPU will ensure a smooth playback of media files on its stunning 3.5-inch, 320 x 240 trans-reflective TFT LCD screen. YH-999 also features an embedded composite video output port to connect the device to a TV for content playback. Even large media video files can be transferred in a matter of minutes via its USB 2.0 connection.
Samsung also announces the YP-860 Yepp Sports HDD model, combining full MP3 functionality with innovative health-monitoring features. In addition to the 1.5GB HDD for media storage, the YP-860 has an integrated FM radio and supports MP3, WMA and AFS music files. More than an MP3 player, it includes a heart-rate monitor, calorie counter and stopwatch, making it a perfect workout companion. The lightweight YP- 860 is splash proof and is bundled with an armband for easy mobility. |
