• Face Detection Technology targets and locks on up to eight faces to ensure accurate focus for crystal clear, amazing portraits. The LCD shows the faces detected for ease of use.
• The powerful 10-megapixel Live-MOS sensor means you'll see more detail in your pictures than ever before. And you'll have the flexibility to crop and still produce large, detailed prints.
• The Olympus dust reduction system is an industry first and a proven technology. Every time you turn on the E-520, the Supersonic Wave Filter™ — located between the shutter and the image sensor – silently vibrates an amazing 30,000 times per second. Dust is flung away and collected so it can't come back.
• The E-520's 2.7" HyperCrystal™ II LCD delivers twice the contrast and better viewing in extreme lighting conditions, a broader range of color detail, and a wider angle of view on the LCD.
• With 20 easy-to-use Scene-Select Modes you can simply select the right mode for your shot; the E-520 takes care of the rest. The 20 modes cover practically every common shooting scenario including Portrait, Fireworks, Sports, Landscape, Sunset and many more, even underwater.
• Perfect Shot Preview enables you to view and select your favorite effect right on the LCD, and see how the image will look, even before you capture it.
• The E- 520's TruePic III™ processor gives you better color and quality through true-to-life skin tones, brilliant blue skies, precise color transitions, more detail and less image noise.
• Expand your creative reach with wireless flash compatibility. The E-520 is compatible with the Olympus FL-50R and FL-36R wireless electronic flashes that are designed exclusively for digital photography.
• Accepting CompactFlash Type I & II, Microdrives, and xD-Picture Cards, the E-520 provides a choice of data storage options for enhanced flexibility, and it is possible to transfer image files from one card to the other right inside the camera.
• Fire off a burst of shots at 3.5 frames per second. The E-520's burst rate is perfect for capturing the ideal shot at a backyard birthday party or at a youth soccer game.
• The Auto White Balance function analyzes information from the scene and calibrates how a white object should appear under a variety of light sources, so your images turn out vibrant and life like.
• Olympus Zuiko Digital™ lenses provide edge-to-edge pixel-perfect clarity. Unlike film lenses, these advanced, precision-engineered 100-percent digital lenses are designed to work perfectly with all the camera's digital technology.
• Underwater Housing PT-E05 allows you to take the E-520 to depths of 130 feet. The required, optional lens ports allow the use of lenses from the 8mm fisheye through the 50mm macro -- as well as flashes -- for spectacular underwater photography.
