Leica will introduce the new Leica V-LUX 1, an SLR-like digital compact camera which combines high-performance optics and outstanding picture quality in a compact camera body. The camera offers 10 million pixel resolution and a 12x optical zoom (1:2.8-3.7/35-420 mm) lens and is based on the Panasonic DMC-FZ50. The integral picture stabilizer gives the user additional protection against camera shake, even under difficult lighting conditions.
