CRT vs. LCD now and in the near future
|

The long-lasting debate on CRT vs. LCD monitors seems to have gone quiet as LCD quality has gone up and prices have gone down. Still many prefer the CRT over the LCD in spite of its biggest drawbacks: size and heat. But there's good news at the horizon, the Samsung Vixlim and the LG-Philps cybertube+ are modern versions of the classic CRT and are expected to be launched next year...

But that's not all, from the flat panel front we'll soon see new developments too. Last month Canon and Toshiba have announced the formation of a new company, SED Inc. to further develop and manufacture SED (Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display) panels, a new type of flat panel combining the brightness, contrast and color characteristics of a CRT with the dimensions and geometric characteristics of an LCD
