The DMC-FH27 / FS37 features a 28mm wide-angle 8x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens (35mm camera equivalent: 28-224mm). The 28mm wide-angle lens lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or expansive architectural structures and scenes with dynamic width and rich perspective. The 8x optical zoom lens gives you highly natural expressions from people and animals with 16.1-megapixel resolution that you can't get close. The Extra Optical Zoom extends this 8x zoom ratio to powerful 18x zoom at a resolution of 3-megapixel or less.
The camera features a 3.0-inch touch-screen LCD. While shooting, AF can be set at the desired part of the frame with just a touch. You can also operate the AF and shutter release at the same time. While playing back, you can quickly select an image to view by scrolling images. The DMC-FS37 also features Intelligent LCD. It automatically adjusts the brightness according to shooting conditions. This LCD provides sharp, clear images in virtually all shooting situations, ranging from nighttime to bright daylight scenes.
