Following the first endeavors by Omnivision and Sony, Toshiba now announces a new CMOS image sensor with 14.6 million pixels and back-side illumination (BSI) technology. In traditional image sensors the light entering the sensor is blocked by the wires, degrading the overall light sensitivity.
