HP announces advancements in their research on the "Memristor" that changes the way computer systems are designed, equipping them to process the "information explosion". Memristors require less energy to operate and are faster than present solid-state storage technologies such as flash memory, and they can store at least twice as much data in the same area. So there is still light at the end of the tunnel and eventually we will be able to store all megapixels from our digital cameras without the usual memory card hassle...
