Toshiba's 0.85" HDD brings multi-gigabyte capacities to small, powerful digital products |
Toshiba announces today a new hard drive that measures only 0.85 inch. With this drive, Toshiba aims at the market for small consumer electronic goods, such as Digital Cameras, MP3 players and particularly, digital camera phones. The new drive will have an initial capacity of 2 to 4 GB. In comparison, the current Hitachi (former IBM) microdrives measure 1 inch and hold 1 or 2 GB.
