Sony launches the VRD-MC5, its next-generation multi-function DVDirect recorder. The new MC5 can now transfer AVCHD quality videos to DVD discs in their native 1080i HD resolution. The unit can also transfer standard-definition videos to DVD from virtually any camcorder, VCR or digital video recorder.
