Sanyo unveils the VPC-HD700 digital camcorder, successor to the VPC-HD2. The new HD-700 is a slim and lightweight (only 189 grams) high-definition 720p (i.e. 1280 vertical by 720 horizontal pixels) digital movie camera. Movies are recorded in the high-compression MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format, and the new camera also takes stills at up to 7.1 megapixels.
