A year ago Panasonic announced the development of an image sensor with a pixel size of 2.25 x 2.25 μm. The development apparently has surpassed its goals as Panasonic today announces the development of another world's smallest, the new MOS image sensor has 2.0 × 2.0 μm pixels which is now world's smallest sensor, where the previous standard was 3.1 μm.
