Leica launches the Summarit-M family of lenses, starting with the most popular focal lengths in the Leica M system: 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and 90mm. all lenses with a maximum aperture of f/2.5. The launch of the Summarit-M lenses is the start of a campaign in which Leica puts greater focus on its core competencies in optics manufacturing.
