Apple has today released Quicktime 6 providing many important new features:
- MPEG-4, professional-quality, ISO-compliant technology to playback audio and video files
- AAC Audio, the new standard in professional audio. It provides more efficient compression than older formats such as MP3
- Skip Protection, Apple's patent-pending technology for preventing interrupions or skips in streaming media
