According to several sources on the Internet, the days of the Smart Media card seem to be counted. The French site of the Chasseur d'Iimages magazine and the German website Heise online, both run an article stating the imminent end of Smart Media. According to these sources, both Olympus and Fujifilm seem to have firm plans to use the commonly developed XD-picture card in their future products. It may be expected that Ricoh, Sanyo, Toshiba and others will follow in due time...
