Nikon announces the new AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G, a fast, normal 50mm fixed focal length lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8, that is compatible with the Nikon FX-format digital-SLR cameras. A new optical design that enables the maximum aperture and utilizes an aspherical lens element that achieves superior rendering performance for excellent image quality even with shooting in dimly lit indoor settings.
