Fujitsu announces its new LSI image-processing chip for use with 3CCD systems and Foveon X3 image sensors, as we have seen in Sigma DP1 and Sigma SD14 digital cameras. The new chip enables sharp, high-quality images to be processed in cameras in real time with low power consumption. Additionally, the TRUE image processing system LSI chip jointly developed with Sigma is used for interconnect to the Foveon X3 CMOS sensor.
