Sony launches the HDR-FX7E Handycam, offering the benefits of 1080-line full-HDV recording and featuring Sony's new 3ClearVid CMOS Sensor. The 3ClearVid CMOS Sensor used in the HDR-FX7E takes Sony's ClearVid technology a step further. In the ClearVid CMOS sensor, the pixels are rotated at a 45 degree angle, and double the area of each individual pixel while retaining the same pixel pitch as a conventional pixel layout.
