Sony Japan announces the digital cam/recorder DCR-IP220K, the first consumer video camera to use a 2.1 Mpl CCD.*)
The camera is equipped with a 10x optical lens and a 2.5" LCD monitor.
While functioning as a digital still camera, pictures in JPEG format with a max. resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 are stored on Memory Stick.
