Sony has issued a service notice for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX5 camera released on the market in March 2010. It appears that for a limited number of these cameras there's an issue where the coating adhesion of the lens cover may be weaker than expected. On rare occasions, a large portion of the coating may begin to peel away from the lens cover on these affected units.
If your unit is affected by this issue, Sony will offer a free of charge repair service of the lens cover for the period until March 31, 2013...More
