Sony has issued a service notice for the Cyber-shot DSC-W170 digital still cameras. A limited number of these cameras may exhibit peeling of the metal plating on the bezel surrounding the lens, resulting in splinters. Sony will offer free service to replace the front cabinet, including the bezel, on units that fall within the affected serial number range. The serial numbers of the affected camera are listed in the Service Notice and apply to the Red, Gold and Black color models. The Silver color models are not affected...More
