Canon has issued a Service Notice for a number of Powershot A650 digital cameras. When you are shooting with the vari-angle LCD monitor open in bright light or sunny conditions with light shining on the back of the camera, an effect such as that pictured here can occur in images taken with the PowerShot A650 IS. As a temporary solution you can of course avoid this phenomenon by shooting with the LCD monitor closed.
