Canon announces two entry-level PowerShot A-Series digital cameras, the imho somewhat confusingly named A650 IS and the A720 IS. The A650 has 12.1-megapixel resolution and 6x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilization and a 2.5-inch Vari-Angle LCD.
