Panasonic releases first Lumix DMC-G2 firmware update

Panasonic releases firmware update version 1.1 for the Lumix DMC-G2 and an update for the PHOTOfunStudio software that offers support for the new 3D MPO format and H-FT012 lens.
The DMC-G2 firmware update offers the following improvements:
• added a function for recording 3D pictures.
• added a function for playing back 3D pictures.
• Improved operability of AE lock by maintaining the setting even when touch shutter function is used.

• This software supports 3D still pictures recorded in MPO format using the LUMIX DMC-G2 (interchangeable lens system digital camera) and the optional 3D lens H-FT012.
• This software supports functions such as classification or copying to media for 3D still pictures recorded in MPO format using an optional 3D lens attached to the DMC-G2.

• There was a problem where it was sometimes impossible to play back video data of less than 2 seconds on a LUMIX camera when video data recorded with the LUMIX camera was written back to an SD card using PHOTOfunSTUDIO.

[ Version 5.0L309 ]
• The image quality during MPEG2(PAL) conversion has been improved.
• The problem in which files converted to MPEG2 were extended vertically when played back by Media Player and other video players was fixed.
