Olympus to develop new Compact with built-in Zuiko lens

Olympus has announced that it will be developing a new flagship compact camera, its first digital compact camera with a built-in Zuiko lens. Like the PEN E-P2 and E-PL1 cameras, the new camera will include an accessory port so you will be able to attach accessories like the SEMA-1 external microphone adapter set. A prototype of the camera will be displayed this week at Photokina and will also be on display from October 28-30 at the PDN PhotoPlus Expo. Olympus expects to introduce the camera in the first quarter of next year...

Olympus Imaging Corporation is developing a new flagship compact digital camera, first to incorporate a critically acclaimed Olympus ZUIKO lens. The new camera is expected to be introduced in the first quarter of the year 2011. From September 21 through 26, a concept mock-up of the camera will be exhibited at "Photokina 2010", the world's biggest trade fair for the photographic and imaging industries held at Köln Messe, Cologne, Germany.
