Packed with the latest technology, the slim and light S55 looks set to be a big hit amongst style-conscious consumers with busy schedules.

To instantly capture and share inspiring moments from anywhere in the world, the S55 is multimedia messaging (MMS) enabled and taking pictures day and night is easy as the QuickPic Camera IQP-500 with integrated flash is available to purchase with this device. Displaying the images on the vivid color screen, adding music and text to the picture is simple, as is sending the MMS to another mobile almost anywhere in the world. Over GPRS and the integrated e-mail client images can also be sent from phone to PC and can be displayed in a personal photo album facility at http://www.mysiemens.com/city

Bluetooth™ technology and organizer software helps harmonize work lives with social lives – no matter how hectic the schedule is. The S55 automatically synchronizes contacts, business and social schedules wirelessly with PCs and PDAs. And its flexible memory lets you allocate space where you need it most.

The sleek S55 uses the latest Java™ technology, which means there are plenty of practical business and fun entertainment applications. Games, like Jet Ski, are preloaded along with business and travel guides. There is even an animated fitness instructor – Fit @ Work - to show you simple exercises to keep you in shape whether you are at your desk or in your hotel room.

To personalize the S55, you can download other business, entertainment and games software directly from http://www.mysiemens.com/city. Additional melodies and music messages are also available to download to help you make the most of the S55's 16 chord polyphonic ringtones.

Peter Zapf, President of Mobile Phones within the Siemens Information and Communication Mobile Group says, ”There has never been a more exciting time for Siemens mobile. We are intensely proud to launch the S55 – a mobile phone we believe will change the lives of consumers. Tailor made for today's increasingly hectic schedules, the S55 could be a massive success with fast-living urban professionals. We are especially proud to launch this tri-band phone in New York – it is a pleasure to share our passion for excellent design and solid engineering with new customers.”

Accessories for the S55 are stylish and useful. The range includes the Bluetooth™ headset, which allows users to communicate freely and wirelessly. Light (25g), the headset fits comfortably to the ear and has keys for voice dialing, answering/ending calls and adjusting volumes from up to 10 meters away. The introduction of the S55 also sees the development of a new, innovative Car Kit Cradle. Comprising two parts, the cradle can be adapted to accommodate any Siemens phone in this series.
