PRESS SUMMARY

By increasing usability, convenience, and connectivity the Solution Series – 940UX monitor reinforces Samsung's position as a trend-setter in display technology.

Samsung Electronics has launched its groundbreaking UbiSync LCD monitor, the Solution Series 940UX, which can be connected with monitors using only a USB port.

The new concept monitor makes multi-display significantly easier as it can be expanded to six monitors using only a USB port (not include the primary monitor) and without the need for extra special graphic card. Even better, the monitor's embedded driver software automatically installs a driver to a PC when the monitor and PC are connected, eliminating the inconvenience of purchasing additional professional multiple display graphic cards and multiple display software.

According to a user survey conducted by the University of Utah, the quality of monitor display is central to productivity. Multiple-monitor computing boosts productivity by up to 40 percent and increases errorless production by 18 percent. It also makes it 39 percent easier to locate information and is 24 percent more comfortable than working on a single monitor.

The 940UX built-in DVI, D-sub input ports and USB 2.0 hubs facilitates connectivity with other devices and enhances its functionality. The 19” 940UX monitor will be especially welcomed by laptop users who are frustrated by small screens as well as by hospital or office workers whose daily work involves multiple PC screens. The monitor is also ideal for banking and finance users (e.g. Reuters), architects or design professionals in CAD/CAM environment (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structure 2008). By enabling multitasking at work and at home, the 940UX will be a huge success among business-to-business as well as among individual clients.

Alvin Lam, manager – Monitor Product Marketing of Samsung Electronics Hong Kong said, “The 940UX demonstrates Samsung Electronics‘ position as an industry trend-setter in display technology. We will continue to establish that position by launching innovative and future-oriented products that improve the lifestyles of our customers.”

With a high resolution of 1280 x 1024, the 940UX monitor offers superior image quality. It saves costs on setup, display card and professional maintenance service. It also enhances productivity for commercial multiple-display applications. Featuring a 5 ms response time, a 2000:1 contrast ratio and 300cd/m2 brightness, the model is equipped to produce crisp, true-to-life images, while the wide 160/160 viewing angle further enhances the overall viewing experience. The monitor also incorporates a USB 2.0 hub (1 up, 2 down) and triple inputs (DVI-D, Analog and USB interface). The 940UX has also received the Windows Vista® Premium certification.
