The Rollei Prego dp5500 is a budget-priced 5-megapixel digital camera boasting rugged design and reliable performance.

Be it spontaneous candids at a party, inspiring scenics from your last holiday trip or funny video clips of the kids – your Rollei Prego dp5500 leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to practical features for your everyday photographic requirements. But then, if you wish to avail yourself of all the benefits of this high-resolution digital camera, you need not spend a fortune – for only Euro 199 (incl. VAT), a Rollei Prego dp5500 will change hands at your dealers.

With a 5 megapixel CCD, a 3x zoom lens and a 4x digital zoom, your Prego dp5500 already is in the top of its class where image resolution counts. This not only paves the way for high-quality A3 printouts – a zoom range of 32-98mm (equivalent 35mm focal lengths) and variable maximum apertures of f/2.8-4.8 also guarantee true-to-life photos of rich detail in practically any situation. To give just one example, your Prego dp5500 will provide outstanding close-ups from 6 to 50 cm. And if you want to leave focus control to the camera, just use autofocus for excellent results from as close as 0.50 cm.

With 1.8 inch, the TFT color monitor is generously dimensioned and makes for easy framing and checking of camera settings. But if fast-paced action is called for, you will also appreciate the camera's real-image optical zoom viewfinder.
Your Prego dp5500 leaves a wide margin of creativity with practical features such as a self-timer with 3 or 10-second delay, single-frame or continuous shooting and, last but not least, the option of recording brief video clips or a spoken commentary. The video clips will be stored with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and 20 frames per second, either in the 16MB internal memory or on an SD card with a capacity of up to 512 MB. Image quality can be set to Fine, Standard or Economy to save memory space and make allowance for the intended use of the recording.

Many of the camera's modes can simply be entrusted to its automatic control. However, manual override is just as easy. Thus, there are Forced, Off and Red-eye Reduction modes for flash as well as Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, Fluorescent and Sunset presets for white balance. Exposure compensation is possible in 1/3 increments over a range of ±2.0 EV. And whatever manual setting you have in mind, the practical control dial on the camera's top plate will make it a cinch.
If you wish to edit or simply view your pictures, transfer them to a computer or your TV set via a USB cable or the cameras video port, or simply print them out.

Suggested retail price: Euro 199.- (incl. VAT).

Rollei's Prego dp6000 - See-Through Digital Camera

Rollei's Prego dp6000 camera combines a 2.5-inch TFT color monitor with a real-image optical viewfinder

See it through your new Rollei Prego dp6000 digital camera! Because this rugged camera comes not only with an unusually large, 2.5-inch TFT color monitor, but also with a real-image optical viewfinder with eyesight correction. And this means that you have optimum freedom to change from carefully composed monitor-controlled pictures to fast-paced action shots for which an optical viewfinder becomes indispensable. But there is more to the powerful new Prego dp6000: Image quality, to name just one example, can be varied from a space-saving Economy Mode to non-lossy TIFF recording.

The stylish metal body of the Prego dp6000 is home to outstanding technical features: 6.35 megapixel CCD, a 3x zoom lens 7.2-21.6mm f/2.8-4.7 HFT (equivalent to 35-105mm in 35mm photography) and a digital zoom that helps you zoom in on your subjects by an additional 4.4x. Macro shots are possible from 9 to 80 cm. In standard mode, the autofocus will cover a range of 0.80 cm to infinity. An unusual, but very practical feature is the combination of a power-saving polysilicon low-temperature TFT display with a real-image optical viewfinder with eyesight correction. Together, these two give maximum freedom in framing and creative control.

The Prego dp6000 is equally flexible when it comes to recording formats and quality. Stills can be corded with either Fine, Standard or Economy image quality or – without any compression loss – in TIFF format (available only  with 2816 x 2112 pixels). As a result, there is a wide margin for the subsequent correction of tonal values or sharpness. On the other hand, the Prego dp6000 will also record brief video clips with sound. These are stored with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and can – like image files – be recorded either on the 64MD SD card supplied with the camera (optional SD cards up to 512 MB) or transferred to a computer or TV set via USB cable or video port.

Manual options include single-frame or continuous shooting (five frames), bracketing (±0.67EV) or self-timer with 2 or 10-second delay. Shooting modes range from programmed AE or Av and TV to manual, portraits, action or night program.

The built-in flash unit has an effective range of 0.6 – 3.0 m (Wide/ISO 200) and can be set to either Auto, Off, Forced or Red-eye Reduction. For natural color rendition even in critical lighting conditions, the Prego dp600 offers white-balance options of Auto, Manual, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten as well as Fluorescent 1 and 2. Exposure compensation can likewise be controlled automatically or manually in 1/3 incremetns over ±2.0 EV.
