Pentax service advisory on a limited number of Optio digital cameras |
Pentax has joined the ranks and has issued their services advisory for a limited number of Optio digital cameras. This service advisory deals with the problem whereby the LCD monitor may become dark and the image does not display or the image falls into disorder. The cameras that may be affected by this issue are limited to the Optio 330RS, Optio 330GS, Optio 33L, Optio 43WR, Optio 550 and the Optio 555. SUMMARY |
Pentax Imaging Company recently has been made aware that a component in a limited number of our digital cameras may fail and present the following symptoms when used for image capture.
1. The LCD monitor may become dark and the image does not display. 2. The image falls into disorder.
The following digital products may be affected;
Optio330RS Optio330GS Optio33L Optio43WR Optio550 Optio555
Pentax has determined that a limited number of units are affected by this condition. However, the situation may accelerate when units are exposed to high temperatures and humidity.
While only a limited number of cameras are affected by this advisory, if your camera is experiencing the above symptoms, PENTAX would like to inspect it for service. If your camera is affected by this malfunction, PENTAX will repair it without charge even if the manufactures one-year warranty has expired. This will not apply if the camera has any other than the above-mentioned symptoms. If you have any questions about this problem, please contact an authorized PENTAX Service Center.
