OVERVIEW

D1X and D1H Firmware Upgrade

If your D1X or D1H already has Ver. 1.10 firmware, which you can confirm on the rear monitor when viewing an image with data displayed, there is no need to submit the camera for firmware change.

Upgrade details:

- Spanish language: added to menu selection

-Menu colors: colors used for menu operations will be changed for easier viewing.

-Improves compatibility of Color Mode II with Adobe Photoshop 7: changes settings to ensure that file will be recognized as an Adobe RGB file.

- Compatibility with newest Lexar CompactFlash cards: takes advantage of Lexar's new Multi-Card faster write speed to achieve writing speeds up to 30% faster.

- EXIF 2.2: upgraded for compatibility with the latest EXIF format standard

- Battery check: indicator accuracy is enhanced

- Capture software compatibility: added capability to operate with Capture upgrader scheduled for release end-November 2002. (Capture upgrader will be available for download, free for current owners of Version 3 and as a 30-day Trial version for all others)

D1X Buffer Service Enhancement

Effective November 1st, Nikon is pleased to begin a Service Enhancement for D1X buffer performance. This enhancement will effectively increase the D1X buffer size with the net result of enhancing the capacity for sequence photography.

D100 Firmware Upgrade

Your camera's current version is displayed when viewing an image and you have selected the image data display. If Version 2.00 is displayed, there is no need for this upgrade. If an earlier (lower number) version is displayed, then please acquire the Version 2 upgrade service.

Upgrade details:

Remote control operation with Mac® computers: adds PTP protocol and enables D100 under the control of Nikon Capture Control software to operate with Mac® computers that use OS 9.0.4 (requires CarbonLib Version 1.5 or later) OS 9.1.x, 10.1.5 and 10.2.x. Use of PTP protocol will also require Capture upgrade to version 3.5; Version 3.5 is scheduled to become available at the end of November 2002. System compatibility with earlier Apple OS continues unchanged from original specifications, and D100 will continue to operate with Windows® systems according to original specifications.

Improves compatibility of Color Mode II with Adobe Photoshop 7: changes settings to ensure that file will be recognized as an Adobe RGB file.

Easier organization of image and associated sound file: file names for the WAV files made with the MB-D100 will be formatted for easier identification and sorting with the associated image file.
