Casio offers a choice from two firmware updates for the EX-Z850
|

Casio has released two new firmware updates for the EX-Z850. Both updates provide SDHC memory card support and version 1.1B improves the HQ Mode movie quality, at the same time however, it narrows the field of view angle with about 40%. Casio states that this is the reason for these separate versions. The solution is both unique and awkward, and an in-camera function to select the narrow movie mode would have been the way to go. As you know, there's always some risk involved when loading new firmware versions...

Download the Casio EX-Z850 firmware version.1.10
• SDHC memory card support * The field of view angle or image quality of this version is the same as the previous firmware version. Download the Casio EX-Z850 firmware version.1.1B
• SDHC memory card support • Better HQ Mode movie quality (less digital noise, smoother lines) than the previous firmware version • Approximately 40% narrower field of view angle than the previous firmware version for HQ Mode movies Normal Mode or LP Mode movies of this version are the same as the previous firmware version. Important! • The name of the file (EX-Z850.BIN created when Version 1.10 is extracted is the same as the file created when Version 1.1B is extracted ). >> Do not extract both versions inside the same folder.
• You can switch between version 1.10 and 1.1B a many times as you like. (But you should note that there's always some risk involved - ed.) |
