November 5, 2008 - 08:15 GMTOlympus unveils the E-30, the latest addition to their E dSLR series, filling the gap between the E-3 and the E-400 / E-500 series. The new E-30 features a High-Speed Imager AF for Live View shooting, and a dual-axis variable-angle LCD monitor. Furthermore the new model is equipped with a newly developed 12.3-megapixel high-speed Live MOS Sensor, new TruePic III+ image processing engine, and an image stabilization system. The camera complies with the Four Thirds standard, and is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.

This update resolves communication errors that occurred when using direct print with some printers. At the same time Olympus releases a firmware update for the Zuiko digital lenses listed below to ensure compatibility when used with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 camera: ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F2.8, 35mm F3.5 Macro, ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6, ED 35-100mm F2.0 1, and ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6.

Here is a small selection of the improvements included in this new release: - Recent settings can now be displayed in place of My Menu. - Focus acquisition performance in dynamic-area AF mode and with contrast-detect AF has been improved.- Auto white balance performance has been improved.- An issue preventing shutter release at the specified shutter speed when no operations were performed for 30 sec. in mirror up mode has been resolved.

Both adapters quickly and easily add Bluetooth technology to a notebook or a PC. These ultra-small twins hardly protrude from a laptop or a PC. This means that there is no risk of them being knocked and they become part of the notebook itself, so that the notebook can be quickly placed in a notebook bag without having to remove the USB adapter. The Adapter Gold is now available and the 2.1 Adapter will be available from January.

The new lens boasts High-Speed Imager AF support and a circular aperture mechanism for higher imaging performance, and enabling you to enjoy responsive AF Live View shooting. In addition, the lens supports creative photography with its circular aperture mechanism, and excellent close-up shooting capabilities. The new lens is scheduled for sale in Japan on December 20.
