It has turned out that images captured by continuous shooting, under certain conditions may show barely noticeable traces of the immediately preceding frame. This problem is not noticeable in an image with optimal exposure, but becomes more noticeable if a retouching process such as level compensation is applied to emphasize the image. Canon is currently investigating the problem and will release a firmware update to address this issue.

The 645DF delivers advances in core-camera technology, including an innovative new selectable dual shutter system with available flash sync speeds of up to 1/1600 of a second. Designed specifically for use with digital camera backs in the Mamiya 645AF mount, the 645DF is an open platform, compatible with digital backs from Leaf, Mamiya, Phase One, and Sinar. The retail price for the 645DF body is $5,990.

Firmware version 2.0 supports several new functions and improves various performance factors to elevate shooting convenience and fun. The DM22 features a 48x36mm sensor, 5356x4056 pixels, and an ISO range of 25-400, and has an estimated street price of $9,995. It's being introduced at the same time as the Mamiya DM28, an identical camera except for its sensor is 44x33mm, 6144x4622 pixels, and an ISO range of 50-800, which has an estimated street price of $14,990. Both cameras come with the Mamiya 80mm f/2.8 D Series focal plane shutter lens.
